Endodontics, commonly known as “root canal treatment”, is carried out when the nerve of a tooth is damaged or infected. It involves cleaning the inside of the tooth, removing the affected tissue and sealing it to prevent future infection and pain. With endodontic treatment, we avoid the need to extract the tooth.
